Local Authority Expert
A respected and award-winning senior manager, with a bus industry background, now working in a complex multi stakeholder highly political environment advising Mayoral Combined Authority Senior Leaders on Transport.
Responsibilities include strategic transport planning, bus service improvement plan delivery, managing the CRSTS capital delivery, DfT liaison and Demand Responsive Transport Management.

An accomplished HR Director with over 25 years’ experience in the bus sector. With previous operational management and general management experience this gives deep insight into understanding issues and challenges enabling practical solutions to be developed. Scheduling and Planning Expert
Having a wealth of experience in bus scheduling and planning with wide practical experience
of all forms of public transport across the UK and other parts of the World. Particularly
skilled in analysing the effectiveness and efficiency of public transport networks – route
networks, timetables, utilisation of staff, staffing structure and pricing strategies. Practical
experience of implementing demand responsive/community transport and ascertaining
unmet demand for public transport.
Agency PCV Driver Partnership
Partnering with a leading specialist in agency PCV drivers. Working to fully understand the
challenges and offering bespoke packages to deal with the situations faced in a cost
effective way. We also have a specialist accommodation provider able to source comfortable but affordable accommodation if required. We offer short term solutions through to longer term assignments and are proud to gain repeat business with our clients throughout the UK.

Local Authority Advisory work - East Midlands County Combined Authority
Advising a newly elected Regional Mayor on Bus Policy in a newly established Combined Authority, bringing together four Local Authorities and advising on strategy.
TfGM – Franchise Bids
Preparing bids for a client looking to enter the UK bus market in a newly franchised bus area. Advising on strategy and writing the operational and safety plans for five large franchises.
Overhauling PCV Driver Training Programme - UK Bus
Conducting a thorough review of the entire PCV driver training programme. Identifying best practice and understanding the wide variation in current performance. Developed a comprehensive PCV driver training process to enable a consistent and effective approach. Produced a Driver Training Syllabus and Manual which has been implemented in full.
Transport Strategy Advisory Work - City Mayor
Advising a City Mayor on transport policy - tasked a by City Mayor in the South West of England to produce recommendations on managing congestion within the City. Forming and the running a Congestion Task Group providing then implementing a series of recommendations.
UK Contract – Start Up
Engaged by a major UK operator to give advice on their bid preparation for a substantial coaching contract which would involve starting up a new operation in a new geographical area. Bid work covered the service planning and scheduling, operational management, recruitment and training of staff, engineering requirements and identification of premises and infrastructure required
Non Executive Director - Hinkley Point C
NED of the transport provider to Hinkley Point C, the new nuclear power station, Europe’s largest construction project with a total budget of over £40 billion. Oversight and providing advice to the company which went from a start up to a fleet of over 120 vehicles. Transporting over 6000 workers daily, where safety and reliability are paramount.
